  Jimmy, you are damned right about the importance of preaching service!

  If we would prove lukewarm hearts in these f-cking last days, we wouldnt be able to save any people .... and our loving and merciful almighty god Jehovah would have to trash their guts to pieces in the righteous loving war of Armageddon!

  Se lets get up and, for gods sake - let us make a good use of this new video! We must view it as it is - not just some another damned DVD - its a loving, life - saving provision from our heavenly father Jehovah!

  Do you really want to live forever?

  i'm not sure if i do or if thinking the idea of living forever as a "good thing" was just something that was planted in my mind like a lot of the other stuff.

  is the desire to live forever something that i really want or have i been taught that it is something that i should want?

  i know i don't want to die, especially a violent death, but i can't imagine still wanting to be here 10 million years from now just because back in 19xx my parents concieved me.

  The fact that we do not want to die - makes no difference.

  The only reason we should not die is that we do not want to. But again, that makes no difference.

  "Armageddon is Weeks Away" Phrase...Is WT pushing this phrase more recently?

  i'm wondering if this phrase is perhaps being pushed recently in letters to the elders or circuit overseers.

  i have heard it a time or two here in the last few days on the forum - specifically from a bethelite.. also, the last conversation i had with my presiding overseer about 5 weeks ago, he used this exaxt phrase: "i believe armageddon is only weeks away".. i know its been right around the corner for 130 years, but it seems this exact phrase seems to be floating around a lot lately.. what are your thoughts?

  jw's usually don't think for themselves - they just repeat what those above them say.

  I think its totally true and logical, since in 1974 it was according OKM just months away, it makes sense, now, as times go, it is just weeks away....

  I think in 2050 it will be just days away and in 2120 just hours away....

  witnesses are supposed to be "exemplary" and not like the "world".

  yet some jws are pretty notorious.. did you know of any jws that did some real bad things?.

  i knew a pious witness who got caught twice trying to solicit prostitutes.

  In my countrry - Czech republic:

  Two brothers estabilished an investment fund (early 90´s , during post communist economical chaos), ripped off thousands of people of their money, using this stolen money purchased a building and donated it to czech bethel. Now it is used as a czech branch office. These brothers got very wealthy on this fraud, purchased a several real estate properties, one of them was used as a "pioneer school". Never were DF, for a long time they were an example of how a wealthy brother can be spiritualy mature...

  No kidding, serious stuff. After all this was revealed on czech TV (2002) zone overseer came over and deleted 3 out of 4 branch coordinators.

  My wife was raised up as a hard core JW, long time pioneered, baptized 25 years, and after I showed her the generation change she said:

  "Its really weird it sounds like a cult".

  Hope more others will see the light...

  Most-Ignored Scriptures by JWs

  the watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.

  they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.

  " the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

  When discussing "bad associations" I disagreed on completely avoiding company of worldly colleauges and friends. The sister after several atempts to convince me got angry and told me: "Does it encourage you to serve Jehovah? If not, then you shouldnt do it! You shouldnt do anything that doesnt encourage you to serve Jehovah!!!"

  At that moment I felt this reasoning is stupid, but unfortunately I didnt break of...
